Hello world!
I have a very clear memory of my first introduction to blogging, to using a "weblog". It was back in the fall of 2005. In my first and only semester on a college campus, I somehow discovered Xanga. Before that, I had been dabbling in building my own HTML websites since 2000 or so.
Since then I have found the idea of writing and publishing online to be both fascinating and magical. Writing has been a part of my life since I learned how to draw letters, publishing online has taken my obsession with writing to a more complicated place.
When I first got into "blogging" I couldn't get enough of it. I published for fun, because I could. As time passed I used blogging and "social media" for business related stuff and eventually grew tired of the game the internet had and has become. Enter my discovery of micro.blog, I think in 2019 or so. A friendly place, a quiet corner of the internet where people are kind, are not using it solely for self-promotion, the only "timeline" I browse (mostly via RSS)...and from there enter the talented Vincent Ritter, creator of Tinylitics and Scribbles, among other things, and here we are.
I love to support friends and their work and Vincent, even though we have never met and rarely speak, I do consider to be a friend (you can just tell with some people, if given the chance to sit down and have a coffee together, friendship would follow easily). Scribbles is where this blog is published and I am planning to use it for a project I have had in the works (both publicly and not) for some time called "Coffee with Aaron". The intent being gratitude and encouraging more of it in our daily lives. I'll start with simple gratitude logs, maybe add prompts, and will most likely delve into embedding video for fun. Because that's really what we should be doing down here on Earth, having fun! So join me if you'd like, subscribing to RSS is best, that link should be somewhere down below.
Until next time,
Aaron
