Scattered Thoughts and Ideas
I’m not sure what it is lately but my brain has been an absolute pinball machine. I have had to have three or four notebooks open when I do my morning writing just to effectively capture (and organize) all of the thoughts and ideas.
A past version of myself would have viewed this as a downfall. The inability to focus, the scattered nature of my thoughts, the seemingly random bursts of ideas. Now, though, I view these moments as just that, moments. They come and they go. Not every day is like this, so when I have a day or even a few days of this stream of ideas I seize the moment and record as many as I can, personal brainstorming sessions where there is no such thing as a bad idea. Write it all out, then back up. Look at things from up high, from far away, after a few days of sitting in the notebook, then start to pull on a thread here and there. See where things lead, what new ideas are sparked, what new opportunities may come out of these seemingly crazy moments, one never knows!
Today was like this. So was yesterday. I never know how long it will last and am thankful for the times I am entered into such a headspace.
I’m a firm believer that we do not have ideas but are given ideas. Ideas are gifts for us to use. Some will work out, some won’t. Either way, whatever happened is what was intended to happen. We are given these ideas and the responsibility to give them a fair chance.
And so I write furiously and take action on the ideas that seem to be the best to start with.
That’s going to do it for now. Rest is calling!
Hope you had a great day!
